Le très vénérable Drubpon Konchog Tharchin Rinpoché est né l'année Terre Bœuf le dixième jour du dixième mois du calendrier lunaire (jeudi 1er décembre 1949), correspondant conjointement au jour de l'anniversaire de Padmasambhava et à celui de la pleine lune. Rinpoché est né, pour la seconde fois, à Skindiang au Ladakh, petit village où l'on peut atteindre les siddhis ordinaires et suprêmes simplement en méditant car Padmasambhava a séjourné plusieurs jours dans ce village. Fils de Lhundrup Tashi son père et de Tashi Choszom sa mère. Il a trois frères (Seunam, Samphel, Djinba) et une sœur (Tashi). À l'âge de 2 ans, il reconnut certains objets lui ayant appartenu dans sa précédente incarnation : maison, tasse, cloche et dorjé...

À l’âge de 12 ans, il fut remarqué par Kyoungkar Rinpoché qui le fit entrer au monastère de Lamayuru au Ladakh pour y étudier et effectuer deux retraites traditionnelles de 3 ans, 3 mois et 3 jours.

L'année de ses 14 ans, Il prit refuge avec Son Eminence Togden Rinpoché qui lui donna son nom de Dharma Konchog Tharchin qui signifie Le précieux Joyau ayant l’omniscience et la connaissance transcendante.

Le 14 novembre 1965 (année du cheval de feu), Son Eminence Togden Rinpoché le reconnait en tant que Tertön. Rinpoché a en effet découvert plusieurs termas, dont le plus connu est le "cercle de profonde protection" et celui de  Skindiang, son village natal. Il y a 30 ans de cela, Rinpoché ordonne aux villageois de creuser la terre à un endroit très précis car, dit-il « un Terma y est enfoui ». Après avoir creuse, les villageois tombèrent sur un rocher qu’ils déterrèrent et sur lequel sont visibles les empreintes de pieds de Padmasambhava. Suite à cette découverte, Rinpoché fit construire un petit temple autour de ce rocher. Ce temple est ouvert uniquement lors des jours consacrés à Padmasambhava.

Plus tard, en 1977, à Réwalsar, un lieu saint très important de l'Inde, il reçut la transmission orale, l'autorisation et l'enseignement du Grand trésor de Terma le "Rinchen Terzot" de Sainteté Dudjom Rinpoché en 103 volumes et également celui de ses 25 œuvres. Comme nom secret, il obtint Kunkhyab Dorjé Dragtsal.

Il prit ensuite la direction du monastère de Skindiang durant trois ans et fit bénéficier de nombreux êtres de son enseignement.

Au monastère de Phyang, il reçut l'habilitation, la transmission et l'enseignement du trésor de yangzab de la lignée Drigung révélé par Rinchen Phountsog ainsi que la transmission de toutes les performances du rituel de dbang lnga BCU ma de la tradition Drigung Kagyud. Ensuite, il reçut la transmission de toutes les divinités de la lignée Kagyud de Togdan Rinpoché. À Leh, il reçut du 14e dalaï-lama la transmission du tantra de Kalachakra à deux reprises suivie d'une autre à Karsha au Zanskar. Au Jokhang de Leh, il reçut la transmission du Kagyur de Togdan Tulku de la lignée gélugpa. 

À Bodh Kharbu, il reçut la grande initiation des cinq divinités de Shri Chakrasamvara de Drikung Skyabgon Chetsang Rinpoché. Alors que celui-ci faisait des pilules du dharma de Khanpo Konchog Togdrol dans le Shang, il reçut la transmission du texte liturgique de Kabgyad De Dus de Rigdzin Jigmed Lingpa de la tradition Dzogchen et toutes les divinités dont Mahakala. De lui, il reçut également deux fois l'enseignement sur le Dagpo Thargyan, le Précieux ornement de la Libération par Dagpo Rinpoché. Au centre de retraite d'Atitsé, il reçut la Collection des Cinq Traités sur le Madhyamaka par Nagarjuna pendant un an par Khanpo Phountsog Rabstan d'Hénasku. Alors que Tsétrul Rinpoché effectuait le rituel qui déjoue les démons au monastère de Lamayuru, il reçut la transmission orale et l'initiation complète de toutes les divinités courroucées de Padmasambhava de la tradition de Padma Lingpa. 

Il devint ensuite maître de retraite au monastère Lamayuru durant plusieurs années. Il étudia également la médecine et l'astrologie tibétaines.

Il pratiqua la méditation, au total, Rinpoché a plus de 40.000 heures de méditation à son actif.

Il reçut au total plus de 2 700 transmissions de la lignée Drikung Kagyu et de la lignée Nyingmapa.

Héritier des yogas de Naropa et du Phowa, il est un spécialiste de toumo, parvenant à faire fondre la neige en hiver par moins 40 °C.

Un jour, qu'il se rendait à Khalsi, une cohorte de daims apparut tout autour de son véhicule. Les animaux le saluèrent, restèrent quelques minutes à ses côtés avant de repartir.

Une nuit, Rinpoché rêva que chevauchant la tigresse de Dorjé Droleu, ce dernier apparut et lui déposa un magnifique phurba d'or au niveau du cœur.

Il fut reconnu par Son Eminence Togden Rinpoché comme une émanation de Padmasambhava ayant pour yidam Vajrakilaya. À l'âge de 18 ans, lorsqu'il vit une représentation de Vajrakilaya, il dit "Voici ma divinité", lorsqu'il entendit et vit le mantra de Vajrakilaya pour la première fois, il ressentit une immense joie et dit : "C'est ce mantra que je souhaite réciter". À l'âge de 30 ans, il fit un rêve fabuleux : il rêva qu'un pourpa en or descendait du ciel pour pénétrer sa poitrine et s'installer en son cœur. Depuis, la divinité le suit comme une ombre. Vajrakilaya est Bouddha Dorjé Sempa courroucé et constitue l'une des plus hautes divinités du bouddhisme tibétain.

En 2018, il fit construire le plus grand temple de Leh au Ladakh dont l'inauguration eut lieu en juillet 2018 en présence de Chetsang Rinpoché. Il se retrouve à la tête de trois monastères, celui de Mandoglu en Inde, celui d'Arling Cheuskor Orgyen Ling à Leh au Ladakh et celui de Skindiang au Ladakh.

Actuellement, Drubpon Tharchin Rinpoché vit en France, à l'Institut Drikung Kagyu RInchen Pal où il représente Drikung Chetsang Rinpoché et offre l'enseignement bouddhiste à de nombreux disciples. Il donne la transmission orale des vœux de refuge aux disciples dévoués et chaque année, la transmission complète de divinités importantes du Bouddhisme tibétain. Il enseigne les Précieux yogas de Naropa, propose aux plus assidus de suivre la retraite de lama. À ces côtés, Khandro Padma Dreulma le seconde.

Il publie, en 2020, "Le Précieux Guide Bouddhiste", préfacé par Gyalwang Drikungpa et Togden Rinpoché

Considérant qu'en Asie, la pauvreté matérielle constitue la principale souffrance, le Vénérable Drubpon Konchog Tharchin Rinpoché crée l'association humanitaire France Himalaya Tiers-monde en 1992.

Considérant qu'en Europe l'origine principale des souffrances est une carence en spiritualité positive, il fonde alors l’Institut Bouddhique Drikung Kagyu Rinchen Pal.

 

The most venerable Drubpon Konchog Tharchin Rinpoche was born in the year Ox Earth on the tenth day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar (Thursday, December 1, 1949), corresponding jointly to the birthday of Padmasambhava and that of the full moon. Rinpoche was born, for the second time, in Skindiang in Ladakh, a small village where everyone can reach the ordinary and supreme siddhis simply by meditating because Padmasambhava stayed several days in this village. Son of Lhundrup Tashi his father and Tashi Choszom his mother. He has three brothers (Seunam, Samphel, Djinba) and a sister (Tashi). At the age of 2, he recognized some objects that belonged to him in his previous incarnation: house, cup, bell and dorje...

At the age of 12, he was noticed by Kyoungkar Rinpoche who brought him into the Monastery of Lamayuru in Ladakh to study and carry out two traditional retreats of 3 years, 3 months and 3 days.

In the year of his 14th birthday, He took refuge with His Eminence Togden Rinpoche who gave him his Dharma name Konchog Tharchin which means The Precious Jewel With Omniscience and Transcendent Knowledge. On November 14, 1965 (Year of the Fire Horse), His Eminence Togden Rinpoche recognized him as Tertön. Rinpoche has indeed discovered several termas, the best one is known as the "circle of deep protection" and that of Skindiang, his native village. 30 years ago, Rinpoche ordered the villagers to dig the land in a very specific place because, he said, "a Terma is buried there." After digging, the villagers came across a rock that they dug up and on the rock padmasambhava's footprints are visible. Following this discovery, Rinpoche built a small temple around this rock. This temple is only open on days dedicated to Padmasambhava.

Later, in 1977, in Rewalsar, a very important holy place of India, he received the oral transmission, authorization and teaching of the Great Treasure of Terma the "Rinchen Terzot" of Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche in 103 volumes and also that of his 25 works. As a secret name, he obtained Kunkhyab Dorje Dragtsal. He then took over the direction of the monastery of Skindiang for three years and gave many people the benefit of his teaching.

At Phyang Monastery, he received the habilitation, transmission and teaching of the yangzab treasure of the Drigung lineage revealed by Rinchen Phountsog as well as the transmission of all the performances of the dbang lnga BCU ma ritual of the Drigung Kagyud tradition. Then he received the transmission of all the deities of the Kagyud lineage of Togdan Rinpoche. In Leh, he received from the 14th Dalai Lama the transmission of Kalachakra tantra twice followed by another in Karsha in Zanskar. At Leh's Jokhang, he received the transmission of Togdan Tulku's Kagyur from the Gelugpa lineage.

In Bodh Kharbu, he received the great initiation of the five deities of Shri Chakrasamvara from Drikung Skyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche. While he was making pills of the dharma of Khanpo Konchog Togdrol in the Shang, he received the transmission of the liturgical text of Kabgyad De Dus of Rigdzin Jigmed Lingpa of the Dzogchen tradition and all the deities including Mahakala. From him he also twice received instruction on the Dagpo Thargyan, the Precious Ornament of liberation by Dagpo Rinpoche. At the Atitse retreat center, he received the Collection of the Five Treatises on madhyamaka by Nagarjuna for a year by Khanpo Phountsog Rabstan of Henasku. While Tsetrul Rinpoche performed the ritual that thwarts demons at Lamayuru Monastery, he received oral transmission and full initiation from all the wrathful deities of Padmasambhava of the Padma Lingpa tradition.

He then became a retired master at Lamayuru Monastery for several years. He also studied Tibetan medicine and astrology. He practiced meditation, in total, Rinpoche has more than 40,000 hours of meditation to his credit. In total, he received more than 2,700 transmissions from the Drikung Kagyu lineage and the Nyingmapa lineage. Heir to the yogas of Naropa and Phowa, he is a toumo specialist, managing to melt the snow in winter by minus 40 ° C. One day, on his way to Khalsi, a cohort of deer appeared all around his vehicle. The animals greeted him, stayed a few minutes by his side before leaving. One night, Rinpoche dreamed that riding dorje Droleu's tigress, the latter appeared and deposited a magnificent golden phurba at the level of her heart.

He was recognized by His Eminence Togden Rinpoche as an emanation of Padmasambhava having for yidam Vajrakilaya. At the age of 18, when he saw a performance of Vajrakilaya, he said "This is my divinity", when he heard and saw the mantra of Vajrakilaya for the first time, he felt immense joy and said: "This is the mantra I wish to recite". At the age of 30, he had a fabulous dream: he dreamed that a golden pourpa was coming down from the sky to penetrate his chest and settle in his heart. Since then, the deity has followed him like a shadow. Vajrakilaya is the wrathful Dorje Sempa Buddha and is one of the highest deities in Tibetan Buddhism. In 2018, he built the largest Temple of Leh in Ladakh, which was inaugurated in July 2018 in the presence of Chetsang Rinpoche. He found himself at the head of three monasteries, that of Mandoglu in India, that of Arling Cheuskor Orgyen Ling in Leh in Ladakh and that of Skindiang in Ladakh.

Currently, Drubpon Tharchin Rinpoche lives in France, at the Drikung Kagyu RInchen Pal Institute where he represents Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche and offers Buddhist teaching to many disciples. It gives the oral transmission of vows of refuge to devoted disciples and every year, the complete transmission of important deities of Tibetan Buddhism. He teaches the Precious Yogas of Naropa, offers the most assiduous to follow the lama retreat. At these sides, Khandro Padma Dreulma the second. He publishes, in 2020, "The Precious Buddhist Guide", prefaced by Gyalwang Drikungpa and Togden Rinpoche Considering that in Asia, material poverty is the main suffering, Venerable Drubpon Konchog Tharchin Rinpoche created the humanitarian association France Himalaya Tiers-monde in 1992. Considering that in Europe the main origin of suffering was a deficiency in positive spirituality, he then founded the Drikung Kagyu Rinchen Pal Buddhist Institute.
